Organization Overview
The Brookfield Police Department provides full-service law enforcement to the residents, businesses, and visitors of the Village of Brookfield 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Services include patrol and emergency response, criminal investigations, traffic safety, and community outreach. The Department serves people of all ages and places particular emphasis on youth engagement through school partnerships and mentoring programs that build trust between young people, their families, and the officers who serve them. The Village of Brookfield is approximately 3.2 square miles and serves a population of just under twenty thousand people.
The Parks and Recreation Department plans and implements general recreation and special events programs, facilitates the rental of parks and athletic field usage, and manages the recreation facilities and program offerings for the Village of Brookfield.
Program Highlight: Let's WIN
Let's WIN is a youth mentoring program offered in partnership with S.E. Gross Middle School and supported by the Proviso Township Mental Health Commission, bringing students together with police officers and school staff twice a month for homework help, recreational games, life skills projects, and hands-on technology activities. Each session ends with a family dinner that connects parents and guardians with participating officers, and annual field trips round out a program built on wellness, transparency, and positive relationships between youth, families, and police.
