HAS is a community-based behavioral health organization serving individuals and families across the Chicago area, including residents of Proviso Township. Through six integrated programs, we provide substance use disorder treatment, mental health care, crisis support, residential and housing services, and services for those affected by violence. We serve adults, youth (ages 13+), and families, many from underserved communities, and work to address the broader social and economic factors that affect health and well-being.

Substance Abuse: At H.A.S., Outpatient (OP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) treatment services are designed for adults who have developed symptoms of dependency or abuse, are medically stable, and do not need detoxification or inpatient services. During treatment, participants work closely with staff to create their own individualized treatment and recovery plans, to learn about the disease process of dependency, to understand and accept their own chemical dependence, and to explore healthy lifestyles. Group, individual, and family counseling are incorporated based on an individual’s treatment plan and needs. Counselors integrate proven and effective evidence-based treatment approaches such as Motivational Interviewing techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and 12-Step Facilitation. Most services at HAS are offered in both English and Spanish. Please call for information regarding referrals, assessments, or hours of operation.
