Starting October 1, 2013, PTMHC and HAS, along with more than 40 other organizations throughout the state, will begin enrollment of people who are eligible for the program.
In the meantime, PTMHC, HAS and the other agencies have hired "assisters" to fan out across the state to help anyone who needs assistance with understanding or registering for the program. Our team will focus on the city of Chicago and the western suburbs.
We will be targeting our outreach to the uninsured, those eligible for subsidies, non-English speaking households, the disabled, the elderly and the mentally ill. We will be setting up a hotline at PTMHC to answer questions about the program. We'll post that information as soon as it becomes available.
We will also be contacting churches, grocery stores and schools, pretty much anywhere we think we can get the word out. We'll keep our website updated with information for anyone who is interested or has questions.
This is a wonderful opportunity to bring health care to those who need it.
